I love a good exfoliator. And yes, the first exfoliator I used like every darling millennial was the St. Ives Apricot Scrub (how we’ve come so far from those days!). During one of my many Sephora orders, I received the Wishful Yo Glow as a sample. With no research done, I used it on with my face wet, wet the product, and slathered it onto my face. And to be honest, I loved it.
Like many when I was younger I would over-exfoliate thinking the more I exfoliate the better, right? Nope, instead my skin was drier and more sensitive. Now that I’m better versed in skincare and exfoliation, I do it according to my skin’s needs.
The packaging of the Yo Glow is so cute. It’s a pale yellow with holographic writing and it’s a squeeze packaging which I like. However, what I don’t like is that it’s a twist-off cap. I wish it was flip-top packaging instead to make it easier as the product will come out easily when it’s opened.
How To Use Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Exfoliator
One of my favorite exfoliators ever is Paula’s Choice 2% BHA. It has a cult following for good reason. However, sometimes I would want something a bit grittier. As I said, I received a small sample during one of my Sephora orders, and without any instructions, I used it as I assumed one uses a scrub. I washed my face, and on damp skin, I applied the Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub and slathered it all over my face. The creamy texture resembled that of Tatcha’s Rice wash.
Immediately, once rinsed off I loved how smooth and bright my skin looked. And there was no tight or dry feeling afterward. Around my nose is where I noticed most of the smoothness. I was excited and purchased the full-size during the VIB sale.
Yo Glow is formulated with some standout ingredients such as:
- Papaya fruit extract: smooths the skin and increases clarity
- Pineapple fruit: gently exfoliates to reduce the look of dark spots and soothes skin
- BHA and AHA: exfoliate dead skin cells and smooths skin texture and complexion
So, apparently when I used it on wet skin that was incorrect. And I say that loosely. The directions on how to use Wishful Yo Glow say to:
- apply a generous amount on dry skin (yes, not wet like I did!)
- Massage the product in circular motions. As you do this you’ll notice the product ball up. No, it’s not your skin it’s the product gently removing impurities.
- Rinse and continue with your skincare routine.

How Often Should You Use Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub?
Wishful by Huda Kattan (Huda Beauty) is known for the heavy fragrancing of their products. Now, for me personally, I didn’t notice much of a strong smell. But take my opinion lightly here, as I have allergies that heavily block my sense of smell.
It’s recommended you use this on dry skin but as I said I used it the first time on wet skin. And while there was no balling up of product it was much gentler and worked just as great as dry! I have sensitive skin and use this twice a week with no irritation. If you have ultra-sensitive skin use it once a week. Or try using it on damp skin as it is much gentler yet still effective. If your skin type is normal daily use is fine.
Is The Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub Good?
As I conclude, I have to say I’ve loved incorporating this into my nightly skincare routine. My skin is brighter and smoother and my pores look much smaller. I use this twice a week and I alternate with my beloved Paula’s Choice BHA.
Yo Glow is available in mini and full-size at Sephora. You can get the mini, full-size, and jumbo-size on Huda Beauty.
